Bakersville has several possibilities for the avid walker. All are dog-friendly.
Stroll along the Bakersville Creek Walk. Built after a devastating flooding of Cane Creek in 1999, our Creek Walk is now home to several of our town festivals, music events, and more. There are several picnic area and pavilions, public art, a large playground for children, and a community garden that is cared for by students at Bowman Middle School.
For a more challenging walk, try our Bakersville Town Walk (download map below). It incorporates the .6 mile Creek Walk stretch, then loops around one of our pretty town roads for another .7 miles, before continuing on a 3.3 mile stretch through several back roads, up some small hills, up the high hill to our new courthouse, and then heading back through downtown to your starting point. Total distance: 4.6 miles.
