| Nurse-midwifery provides care for women throughout the
life-span. Nurse-midwives provide care for pregmant women, including pre-natal
and birth services in both the hospital and the home settings. They provide
well-woman/gyn care, including annual exams, pap smears, family planning,
peri-menopausal and menopausal health care. Nurse-midwifery care
at Bakersville Community Medical Clinic includes health screening tests
and treatment options for some conditions include herbal and homeopathic,
as well as prescription, treatments. Clients are encouraged to
make their own healthy choices. Nurse-midwifery care also includes
newborn care, infant care and sports physicals. Clients who need further
evaluation are referred to the appropriate health care provider. |
