Came to Bakersville Community Medical Clinic in 2000 Dr. James is married to Nancy Beaver and their children are Kirstin, Miriam, Carrie, Andrew, Asia, and Micah.
Experience: Baptist Medical Missionary (1983-1999); Good Samaritan Hospital, Limbe, Haiti; Medical Director at Gsh (1994-1999), a 100 bed hospital. During the time he was working at Gsh, the hospital out-patient department consulted over 90,000 patients annually with an average health care providing staff of 5 to 10 physicians. "For me personally , it was very rewarding and meaningful work, but the need was endless and one could never do enough . We were always forced to sacrifice the perfect in order to do some good wich otherwise would not be done at all for the majority of the sick and poor. My years there taught me the truth of Mother Theresa's words ' It is not how much we do that counts--it is how much love we put into the doing that matters'." |
